Rebekah Woods, J.D., Ph.D.

Rebekah S. Woods, J.D., Ph.D., has more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration, preceded by her work as an attorney in the public sector. She currently serves as the Provost of Jackson College (JC) in Jackson, Michigan. During her time at Jackson College Dr. Woods has been part of the founding team and currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Jackson Preparatory and Early College. She led the development and successful implementation of Guided Pathways. JC is one of 30 colleges in the country selected by the American Association of Community Colleges to develop a national model for Guided Pathways. Dr. Woods also helped lead the development and expansion of alternative models of education including online and competency based education, and led delegations to China that resulted in the expansion of JC’s international partnerships.

Dr. Woods participates in the higher education community at multiple levels. She serves as a peer-reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and serves on the AACC Commission on Research, Technology and Emerging Trends.

Dr. Woods has been active in her local community as a mentor for young women through the Daughters of Promise and Jackson College Sisters of Strength, and participates in 100+ Women Who Care.

Prior to JC, Dr. Woods served as the Dean for Student and Academic Support and Strategic Enrollment Management at Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan.
