Rebecca Williamson, Ed.D.

Dr. Rebecca Williamson has spent over 20 years in the Washington State Community and Technical College system in a variety of roles in instruction, student services and statewide administration. Rebecca began her higher education career in the Women’s Center at Highline College. In this role, she was responsible for coordinating outreach and retention efforts to special populations regarding higher education opportunities. Rebecca’s commitment to student success and passion for underserved populations has continued throughout her career.

Rebecca served as a Policy Associate at the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and then as the Executive Director for Workforce and Continuing Education at Shoreline College. Rebecca served as the Vice President of Instruction at the Community Colleges of Spokane for six years. She led the instructional divisions of the college and fostered instructional innovation centered on student success.

In September 2016, Rebecca rejoined Green River College. She had previously served the college as an Instructional Dean. In her current role as Interim Vice President of Instruction, Rebecca is providing leadership for all instructional activities of the college. Through college-wide collaborations and a shared vision of student success, the college has initiated strategic enrollment planning efforts and new processes to reinvigorate faculty hiring.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s of Science (Psychology), a Masters of Public Administration and a Doctorate of Education: Higher Educational, Leadership and Policy Studies all from the University of Washington.
