Virginia Fraire, Ph.D.

Virginia M. Fraire, Ph.D., serves as Vice President of Student Services at Austin Community College (ACC) where she leads eight student success administrators supporting 75,000+ students, across 11 campuses.  
She leads the districtwide strategy in enrollment management, academic and career advising, counseling, student engagement, special populations, student conduct and compliance, data analytics, and learning support including oversight of ACC’s premier learning facility -the ACCelerator.

Dr. Fraire is passionate about fostering education and career pathways to social equity and economic mobility. She works collaboratively across institutional lines and is currently leading significant organizational change to best support guided pathways- a national movement that provides structured support and clear academic paths for students. Her recent accomplishments include leading the college’s efforts to adopt predictive analytics for use in student affairs and instructional operations, creating an enrollment management team, transforming advising from an ad hoc transactional model to a proactive and transformative model.

Previously, Virginia served in multiple student affairs positions at ACC including Dean of Student Services. She also served in leadership positions at TG, now Trellis, leading state and national efforts to promote college participation and success. She has also served as an adjunct professor at ACC and St. Edward’s University, Austin, Texas.

Dr. Fraire was raised in El Paso, Texas and is an ACC alumna. She holds both a Bachelor and Master degree in Social Work and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the Community College Leadership Program, all from The University of Texas at Austin.
