Lake-Sumter Nursing Program

The nursing program at Lake-Sumter State College in central Florida has a strong focus on career readiness and provides students both a rigorous curriculum and intense clinical practice and experience. Strong ties with the community, including numerous partnerships with area health care facilities, are a big reason why more than 90% of students are employed one year after graduation. The program actively works to ensure that students who have not traditionally been served by this type of program gain access and succeed. With median annual earnings for graduates one year after graduation in line with that of the region (and more than double that of those with similar levels of educational attainment), it’s clear the program is serving students well. With nursing jobs in the area projected to grow, Lake-Sumter is setting its students up for a secure future.
