Northeast Diesel Technology Program

The mission of Northeast Community College in Nebraska is to be “dedicated to the success of students and the region it serves,” and its diesel technology program is a prime example. Students in the highly structured program are taught to repair and maintain diesel-powered equipment amidst 21st-century demands and ever-changing technological advancements. Student learning extends far beyond the classroom, incorporating laboratory training and a required summer internship. This commitment to student experience and success has yielded an 84% persistence rate and 70% on-time completion rate for students. With projected employment growth in the region, the program continues to address today’s and tomorrow’s diesel workforce needs.
