Northeast Utility Line Program

As one of only three two-year utility line programs in the nation, the utility line program at Northeast Community College in Nebraska prepares the next generation of top-quality workers for the electric utility industry. The program combines hundreds of hours of hands-on work, classroom instruction in not just job tasks but in physical science and math fundamentals, certification in relevant skills like CPR and commercial truck driving, and real-world experience through a required summer internship. The program graduates Pell students at far higher rates than that of its peers, and average annualized earnings of new graduates are more than twice the livable wage standard in Nebraska. Northeast is demonstrating its commitment to student success and to the community, by helping fill the regional energy industry with a highly skilled workforce.
