John Bonner, MPA, MAT

John Bonner is Vice President of Corporate and Workforce Training at Everett Community College (EvCC). He oversees six regional instructional centers offering professional-technical degrees for careers in industry, dual enrollment for transfer education, professional continuing education, and corporate training for employers. In this role, Bonner develops strategic partnerships to create and diversify education pathways leading to high demand careers in emerging technologies. For example, he led the entrepreneurial development of AMTEC, a state-of-the-art education center where interdisciplinary faculty teams guide manufacturing and engineering students through collaborative projects with industry, K-12, and university partners to solve real world challenges in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Bonner also oversees campus safety and emergency management.

Bonner has chaired strategic planning, strategic enrollment management, and accreditation teams for finance and planning for EvCC, which is an Aspen-recognized institution and an Achieving the Dream Leader College. He serves on local boards and state groups, presenting state-wide on strategic approaches to expanding student access, learning, completion, and employment. In 2016, he was recognized for leadership by Snohomish County Business Journal and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Institute with League of Innovation for Community Colleges. Bonner is completing a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership at Northeastern University. He has earned Master in Public Administration and Master in Teaching degrees from University of Washington, where he also held faculty and managerial roles forging global partnerships for international education. Bonner taught English Language Learners internationally for seven years. His undergraduate degree is in English.
