Deana Sheppard, Ed.D.

Dr. Deana Sheppard is the vice president of instruction at Lone Star College-CyFair in Texas and has served at Lone Star College for 16 years. In this role, she provides instructional leadership to six academic divisions, three CyFair satellite campuses, LSC-Fairbanks Center and LSC-Cypress Center, Westway Park Technology Center, the joint-use library with Harris County Public Library System, and the Division of Academic Affairs.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin State University, a master of science degree in training and development from the University of Houston, and a doctorate of education in higher education leadership from Sam Houston State University.

Dr. Sheppard taught business and computer science courses at the high school and community college level for over 10 years. While at CyFair, she has served as an assistant dean of student learning, dean/executive director, and vice president of centers, and interim president of LSC-CyFair. She has served as adjunct faculty at Sam Houston State University, teaching in the higher education leadership master’s program, and is currently adjunct faculty with LSC-CyFair, teaching the First Year Experience course. She is active in various local and national organizations and boards as well as her church. Her passion is facilitating student success and working with individuals on her teams who have the same passion. Dr. Sheppard values a positive culture and investing in those she serves.

Although her career and community involvement are an important part of her life, her purpose comes from her husband and best friend of 26 years, Drew; 21-year old daughter, Kaylin; and 7-year old son, Liam.
