Kevin Brockbank

Dr. Kevin Brockbank is currently serving as the president of Spokane Community College (SCC) and has held that position since July of 2017. SCC educates over 22,000 students annually and is one of the largest community colleges in the state of Washington.

Dr. Brockbank has 25 years of experience in higher education and has maintained a focus on student success throughout his time as a faculty member, director, dean, vice provost, and president. His experiences with students in the classroom built the foundation for his vision as a president and a dedication to focusing on the teaching and learning processes. This vision can be seen in the work currently underway at SCC in guided pathways and other student success initiatives.

Prior to his appointment as president, Dr. Brockbank was the vice provost for strategic partnerships at Community Colleges of Spokane, which followed his tenure as the dean of the School of Applied Technologies and Professional Development at Salt Lake Community College, where he gained national recognition for his work in innovative approaches to educational delivery and student success. His time there was preceded by a role as interim associate dean at Missoula College and 17 years at Helena College-University of Montana, where he served as the executive director of academic and workforce development, department chair of industrial trades and a tenured faculty member in computer technology and office technology.

Dr. Brockbank earned his B.A. in business and information technology education from the University of Montana (1995), an M.Ed. in curriculum studies from the University of Montana (2005), and an Ed.D. in educational leadership, also from the University of Montana (2017).
