Christy Ponce

2021-22 Aspen New Presidents Fellow
Dr. Christy Ponce has been the president of Temple College in Temple, Texas, since 2019.

She served as the executive vice president at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. She has broad experience serving in administration, student services, and instruction in previous roles at El Paso Community College, Austin Community College, The University of Texas at Austin, and with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Ponce was part of the inaugural Aspen Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence. She has served on boards including the Executive Boards of the American Association of Community Colleges and the Texas Association of Community Colleges. She serves on the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Board. Ponce is chair of the National Committee on Community College Advancement.

Ponce earned a Ph.D. in educational administration from the Community College Leadership Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She holds a bachelor's in education from The University of Texas at Austin and a master's in political science from Texas State University.
