Michael Cioce

2022-23 Aspen New Presidents Fellow
Dr. Michael A. Cioce has spent over 15 years redefining the community college approach to student success.

As the sixth president of Rowan College at Burlington County, he served a pivotal role in launching RCBC’s 3+1 program that allows students to earn a bachelor’s degree for less tuition than most universities charge for a single year; refocused support on programs that are critical to the college’s mission; spearheaded initiatives to implement a new funding formula offering fair representation to New Jersey students; and led RCBC through the COVID-19 pandemic with increased transparency and access to the college community.

Cioce’s passion for student success, collaboration and data-informed decision-making helped propel RCBC to its current standing as one of the top community colleges in the state. He holds a doctoral degree in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a master’s in business administration and financial management from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree from Marywood University.
