Chrissy Davis-Jones

2020-21 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow
Dr. Chrissy L. Davis Jones serves as the interim vice president for student affairs and Title IX coordinator and was formerly the dean of student support services at Spokane Falls Community College in Washington. She is considered a systems thinker, someone who sees the big picture with a strategic and appreciative eye for each pixel. She has over 20 years of experience at various postsecondary institutions, with 16 years focused on developing, restructuring, and implementing programs related to student success. Because of her holistic thinking and research-informed approach to work, Chrissy writes, teaches, and presents on topics such as organizational leadership, DEI concepts, and student success at the local, state, and national levels.

As a former first-generation college student herself, and a passionate educator, Chrissy knows well how access coupled with student success strategies can lead to greater completion for students in general and historically underrepresented students. She is also a firm believer in getting involved to do the work! For example, she is a peer evaluator for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, fellow for the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education, an active member of the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education, and the National Academic Advising Association, just to name a few.

Chrissy hold a doctorate in education from the University of North Texas, a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver, and a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wyoming.
