George Timmons

With nearly three decades of higher education and corporate experience, Dr. George Timmons has been at the forefront of academic excellence and program development; innovative enrollment management; shared governance and transparency; strategic planning; financial oversight; accreditation; institutional effectiveness; and diversity, equity, and inclusion implementation.

Dr. Timmons serves as the provost and senior Vice president of academic and student affairs at SUNY Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, New York. As the chief academic and student affairs officer, his portfolio includes academic leadership, student service leadership, athletics, campus events, campus planning, and partnership development. He serves as a liaison to diverse college-wide committees and external constituencies. In addition, Dr. Timmons has skills in web-based learning management, academic policy development, and curriculum management. An open and collaborative leader, he takes pride in engaging dialogue across constituencies.

Dr. Timmons serves on the the Guilderland Girls’ Basketball Club board, where he has coached his daughter’s team. His interests/hobbies are chess, table tennis, movies, basketball, racket ball, and following trends in higher education.
