Michelle Webb

2022-23 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow
Michelle Webb has been a passionate higher education leader and advocate for community college students, families, and communities for over 20 years. She serves as the director of resource development and advancement at Kennebec Valley Community College in Maine as well as the executive director of the KVCC Foundation.

As a community and education leader, she has partnered with local organizations and stakeholders to ensure pathways for lifelong learning. She has led an array of projects that support early childhood and higher education including practices that provide a whole-family approach to supporting parenting students and their children. Michelle has provided leadership in the redevelopment of the early childhood education program and creation and management of a nature-based family discovery group program that connects local families and students to learning opportunities.

Michelle oversees student scholarship and emergent need funding and annually raises significant funds to support student and program enrollment, persistence, and completion. She has written, acquired funding for, and managed multiple grant awards that focus on reducing barriers and improving student outcomes. She plays an active role in strategic planning, capital projects, and developing holistic student resources and supports. Michelle’s leadership is focused on student experiences, community engagement, and reducing barriers to accessing high-quality education.

She holds two associate of applied science degrees (early childhood education and business management) from Eastern Maine Community College, a certificate in equine science and bachelor of science in child development and family relations from the University of Maine, a certificate of graduate study in public and nonprofit management and master of policy, planning, and management from the University of Southern Maine, and is completing an Ed.D. from the University of New England.

Michelle is a Registered Maine Guide and enjoys living in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes Region with her four sons and two yellow labradors.
