Heather Weinstein

2022-23 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow
Heather is a passionate educator, committed to supporting student success and nurturing a culturally proficient, equitable, and inclusive college community. She brings 25 years of progressive experience working in a variety of academic settings. Heather currently serves as the dean of strategic initiatives and student affairs for Community College of Vermont (CCV). Heather guides and manages high priority initiatives that advance the mission and strategic interests of the College. She serves as the senior administrator responsible for the leadership of a comprehensive student affairs program.

As chair of CCV’s President’s Council, Heather works to establish an agenda that positions the leadership team to effectively shape the future direction of the College in support of improved student outcomes. She co-led CCV through the reaccreditation process and is currently leading the implementation of Guided Pathways. In 2017, Heather established ReSet VT, a program providing CCV classes to incarcerated students in Vermont’s Northern State Correctional Facility. She is currently working to expand the ReSet program to all correctional facilities in Vermont.

Heather holds an M.A. in Administration, Supervision, and Curriculum Development and Management from Georgian Court University and a B.S. in English and Secondary Education from East Stroudsburg University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate of education with a specialization in community college leadership from Northern Illinois University. Heather resides in Montpelier, VT with her husband and two sons.
