Jon Mandrell
2024-25 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow
Dr. Jon Mandrell serves as the Vice President of Academics and Student Services at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois, where he is the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and Chief Student Services Officer (CSSO). He holds an Ed.D in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University and an MA in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University.
Dr. Mandrell has worked closely with several manufacturing and workforce initiatives within the Sauk Valley community, local school districts, and its industry base. In addition, he has worked extensively with forming industry partnerships and the alignment of curriculum to meet today’s workforce demands and bridge the skills gap. Additional initiatives have included the forming of workforce advisory councils, increasing career services to students, and serving as a peer reviewer for the HLC Peer Corps. He previously served as Criminal Justice Faculty and as a local police officer before joining the college administration.
