Josette Katz

Dr. Josette Katz serves as the Senior Vice President of Academics at Atlantic Cape Community College. She is responsible for the oversight of instruction and academic support at the college’s three campuses. Dr. Katz ensures that all academic programs meet Middle States and programmatic accreditation standards. She also oversees the Workforce Development and Continuing Education areas and is instrumental in the college’s academic grant proposals and compliance. As co-chair of the Institutional Effectiveness committee, she was instrumental in developing the college’s 2022-27 Strategic Plan. Committed to faculty professional development, Dr. Katz instituted the Atlantic Cape’s Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, which is now celebrating its fifth year.

Dr. Katz previously served as a Professor in Hospitality Management and Business, Program Coordinator, Department Chair, Dean of Instruction, and Associate Dean of Academic Resources. As Dean of Instruction, she established the Office of Adjunct Faculty Support, receiving recognition from the National Council of Instructional Administrators (NCIA). As a faculty member, she chaired the college-wide Curriculum committee and Technology committees and was an early advocate of online teaching at Atlantic Cape.

Dr. Katz served as Chair of the Academic Affairs Affinity Group for the New Jersey Community College Vice Presidents for the 20/21 academic year. She also served as the President of I-CHRIE (International Association of Hospitality Educators), Chair of the Commission for Accreditation of Hospitality Management Programs, and served on the Substantive Change Committee for Middle States Commission of Higher Education (MSCHE) and the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC).

Dr. Katz received her Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University, Master of Business from Monmouth University, and Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Katz was distinguished as an Honorary Member of Eta Sigma Delta at Stockton University and was recognized as an Exemplary Leader at the Chair Academy 2022 conference.
