Stacy Waters-Bailey

2023-24 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow
Dr. Stacy Waters-Bailey is the Vice President of Transfer Excellence and Success at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston Salem, North Carolina.  She has over 13 years of higher education experience, serving at both two-year and four-year institutions. Stacy has held various roles in both Academic Affairs and Student Services. Previously, she has held positions at Davidson-Davie Community College, The University of Alabama, and Tidewater Community College.

Stacy currently works with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, public officials, and community partners to diminish barriers to success for those she serves. She has a passion for the dually focused access and success mission of community colleges and is committed to leading transformational change initiatives. Stacy leads the singular largest academic division at Forsyth Tech – the Transfer Excellence Division that houses six associate degree transfer programs and multiple non-transfer degree pathways.

Stacy holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Master of Public Administration at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and a Ph.D. in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
