Terricita Sass

2021-22 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow
Dr. Terricita Sass has served 30 years in public higher education. As the vice president for enrollment management and student success at Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia, she provides collaborative leadership to the teams responsible for student service operations, support, the student experience, and enrollment planning.

Prior to Reynolds, she served as the associate vice president for enrollment management at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Sass served as the inaugural chief enrollment management administrator at Norfolk State University (NSU). Her extensive leadership experience at two and four-year institutions reflect her deep commitment to equitable access, support, and outcomes that improve student social mobility while focusing on building and supporting successful data-informed strategies for every population. The core of her leadership philosophy is that “strong leaders build strong teams to build stronger and more successful citizens who impact their families and communities.”

In 2020 she was appointed to the Virginia Community College System’s (VCCS) Strategic Plan Task Force and led the development of student success initiatives. She is the recipient of the Dana B. Hamel Award – the highest leadership and service award given by the Chancellor; recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut by the state NAACP Chapter; an AASCU Millennial Leadership Institute Protégé and she completed the Harvard Institute for Management and Leadership in Education. She earned a Ph.D. in education from Capella University; a master’s in urban affairs from NSU and a B.B.A. in accounting from Francis Marion University.
