Blanca Baltazar-Sabbah, Ed.D. serves as Vice President of Student Services at Cabrillo College, where she leads with a deep commitment to equity, access, and student success. A proud first-generation college graduate and former Cabrillo student, she earned her associate degree in mathematics before continuing her educational journey to complete a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
With nearly 30 years of experience in public education, Dr. Baltazar-Sabbah has held a range of leadership roles from teacher and counselor to executive leadership in K–12 and higher education systems. Throughout her career, she has focused on building inclusive, student-centered systems that expand opportunity and improve outcomes for historically underserved communities. Her work includes oversight of counseling, career, and student support services, as well as leading initiatives aligned with equity, guided pathways, and culturally responsive practices .
Bilingual and bicultural, Dr. Baltazar-Sabbah draws from her lived experience as the daughter of immigrant parents and as a former undocumented student to inform her leadership and advocacy. She is also an author and presenter, writing on the transformative role of mentorship in fostering belonging, leadership, and success. She serves as a board member for the Diversity Center of Santa Cruz County and for San José State University’s Center for Collaborative Research Excellence in Education (CCREE). She is the proud mother of two teenagers, ages 19 and 16, whose journeys continue to inspire her commitment to education and opportunity.
