Appointed in January 2019 as the ninth president of Crafton Hills College, Dr. Kevin Horan has brought a renewed vision for access, equity, and student success to the campus and community. With more than two decades of leadership experience in California higher education, Dr. Horan is known for advancing student-centered innovation, strengthening institutional effectiveness, and building collaborative campus cultures.

Prior to joining Crafton Hills College, Dr. Horan spent 13 years with the Contra Costa Community College District, including seven years as Vice President of Instruction and Student Services at Los Medanos College. During his tenure, he played a key role in implementing guided pathways, expanding online and distance education, and aligning academic and student services to improve completion and transfer outcomes.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Horan served as Director of Campus Affairs at California State University East Bay’s Concord Campus, Director of Student Affairs at Samuel Merritt University, and Director of Residence Life and Auxiliary Services at Holy Names University. These roles strengthened his commitment to holistic student development and inclusive leadership.

Dr. Horan earned an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Dramatic Arts from Saint Mary's College of California, as well as a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University. He and his wife, Erica, have two children, Sage and Reid, and reside in Redlands.
