Dr. Kiana L. Battle is a seasoned higher education administrator with over 19 years of progressive leadership experience. She currently serves as Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois, where she and her team are responsible for leading many of the college’s strategic initiatives that strengthen institutional performance and student outcomes.

Her extensive background in higher education includes leadership roles as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Kankakee Community College and, at Moraine Valley Community College, Dean of Career Programs, Dean of Liberal Arts, and Assistant Dean of Career Programs. She also served as Associate Dean of Instruction for Career Programs and Director of Media and Visual Communications Programs at City Colleges of Chicago.

Throughout her career, Dr. Battle has remained deeply committed to advancing student success. Her contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Vernon O. Crawley/League for Innovation Excellence in Leadership Award (2019) and the Distinguished Administrator Award from City Colleges of Chicago (2010). She serves as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and as a L.E.A.D.S. Advisory Board member for Benedictine University.

In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Battle has over 30 years of experience in the television news industry. She has worked with major Chicago network affiliates, including WMAQ NBC-5, WBBM CBS-2, and WLS ABC-7, as a newscast director and assistant director/stage manager. A member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), she is also a Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award recipient for her directorial work at NBC-5 News, Chicago.

Dr. Battle holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University, a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communications from Columbia College Chicago.
