Dr. Kristina Scott serves as the Vice President of Student Affairs at South Mountain Community College with more than 21 years of experience in higher education. She has led comprehensive Student Affairs initiatives in support of student enrollment, retention, and completion across the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). Throughout her career, Dr. Scott has overseen both academic and student support services, driving efforts toward advancing the mission of the college, increasing operational efficiency, and improving the student experience.
In her current role, she oversees a multi-million dollar divisional budget, leads the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management with steady enrollment growth for the past three years, and serves on the Student Lifecycle Management Solution Steering Team, a $30 million technology integration and business process initiative aimed at improving a systemwide student experience. Her leadership involvement extends to numerous district and community efforts, including being one of the first MCCCD United Way Internal Loaned Executives, tri-chair of the Linda B. Rosenthal Mentor Program, chair of the districtwide Immediate Impact Strikeforce Team, and advisory member to local and statewide educational councils.
Dr. Scott deeply values fostering an inclusive, equitable, and student-centered environment. She is committed to cultivating educational partnerships and driving high impact practices that support student achievement, employee success, and community transformation.
In addition to her administrative role, Dr. Scott is an adjunct faculty member who has taught Business courses for the past three years.
Dr. Scott has a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University (ASU), a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, and a Lean Green Belt certification from ASU. She is also a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
