Dr. Scott L. Jefferies serves as Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services at Piedmont Virginia Community College, a role he has held since April 2023. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across K–12 and higher education, with a strong background in finance, administration, and educational leadership.

Prior to joining Piedmont Virginia Community College, Dr. Jefferies served as Associate Vice President of Finance at Wytheville Community College. His earlier career includes service as Superintendent of Wythe County Public Schools and Superintendent of Lexington City Schools. Throughout his career, he has held a wide range of leadership and instructional roles, including assistant superintendent; supervisor of secondary schools; principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels; high school assistant principal; secondary mathematics teacher; and adjunct professor.

Dr. Jefferies holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Mount Union, a master’s degree in Sports Management from Old Dominion University, an education specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
