Shane Larson serves as Vice President of Student Affairs and Chief Student Affairs Officer at Colorado Mountain College (CMC), where he provides executive leadership for comprehensive student services across the institution’s multi‑campus system. Since assuming the role in February 2017, Larson has led strategic initiatives that strengthen student access, engagement, retention, and success, while advancing the college’s mission to serve diverse learners throughout rural and mountain communities in Colorado.

In his current role, Shane oversees a wide portfolio that includes student recruitment and admissions, financial aid, advising, counseling, career development, disability services, student life, veterans’ services, and first‑year experience programs. He also provides institutional leadership for student conduct processes and federal and state compliance areas, including Title IX and the Clery Act.

Prior to his appointment as Vice President, Shane served as Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management and Registrar at Colorado Mountain College, where he led college‑wide enrollment strategies and process improvements designed to enhance student access and persistence. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in admissions and recruitment, building extensive experience in enrollment operations and student outreach.

Shane holds a master’s degree from Capella University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming. He is an active community member and has served on the Roaring Fork School District board, reflecting his long‑standing commitment to educational access and student success at all levels.
