Amit Singh

Dr. Amit B. Singh became the fifth president of Edmonds College in June 2018, bringing more than 30 years of experience in higher education. Before coming to Edmonds, Amit was provost and senior vice president, chief academic officer, dean, assistant dean, and full-time faculty member at four community colleges in three states, and an adjunct faculty member at three universities. Amit completed the Management Development Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Presidential Fellowship offered by the Aspen Institute in collaboration with Stanford University.

Amit has four graduate degrees—a doctorate in economics from Ranchi University, India; a master’s in finance from Georgia State University; a Master’s of Business Administration from Salisbury University, Maryland; and a master's and bachelor’s in economics from Patna University, India.

Amit came to the United States as a college student in the 1980s. Before joining academia, he worked as a senior financial analyst with a corporate governance consulting firm and as an investment analyst with a brokerage firm. He also was chief executive officer of a startup company in Atlanta.
