Dr. Tawny Dotson has served as president of Yuba College since July 2020. She began her career as an active-duty Air Force officer. After transitioning off active duty, Tawny worked at post-secondary education institutions in Oklahoma, Washington, and California. She holds a bachelor’s from Washington State University, a master’s from the University of Missouri, and her Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from Oregon State University.

She is a graduate of the Aspen Institute Rising Presidents Fellowship and the University of California Davis’ Wheelhouse Institute Fellowship. She serves on the California Community College Athletic Association's board of directors, the California Community College's CEO Funding Policies Task Force, and is co-chair of the California Community College's CEO Strategic Leadership Program. Dotson also continues to serve in the California Air National Guard as a lieutenant colonel.
