With a $150 million budget, the international nonprofit runs about 60 programs focused on education, leadership, and policy studies. Porterfield talks about being a leader. He says the organization evolves about once a decade as social needs change, but it is always focused on "gathering people together for important conversations about how to ensure that our country is a free, just, and equitable society."
