Monica Brown

Dr. Brown is the senior vice president for student affairs at Montgomery College in Maryland. In this role, she serves as the chief student affairs officer and provides vision and leadership for the student affairs division.

Dr. Brown has served in various leadership roles since joining Montgomery College in 2003. She previously served as the associate senior vice president for student services, collegewide dean of student success, dean of student development, and associate dean of student development at Montgomery College. Prior to joining Montgomery College, Dr. Brown worked at Georgetown University, where she began her career in higher education, working in academic affairs, continuing education, and student affairs until 2002.

Dr. Brown is a senior student affairs professional with more than 20 years of progressively responsible leadership experience at four-year and two-year institutions. She is an experienced administrator with a proven ability to inspire others, lead teams, and develop and advance effective student success efforts.

Dr. Brown earned her doctorate of education in higher education administration, with a concentration in community college leadership, from Morgan State University; a master of arts in counseling, with a concentration in student development, from Trinity College; and a bachelor of arts in liberal studies from Georgetown University.
