Stacy Pfluger

Dr. Pfluger has a doctorate in education from Texas Tech University and a master’s in biology from the University of Notre Dame. She is currently the Interim President at Southeast Arkansas (SEARK) College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Prior to assuming the role of Interim President, she was the Provost, a role which included serving as the Chief Academic Officer and the Chief Student Affairs Officer. She arrived at Southeast Arkansas College in May 2022 as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. While at SEARK College, she helped to establish a retention effort aimed at reducing the number of students who dropped or withdrew from classes and led the implementation of a primarily eight-week course schedule.

Prior to arriving at SEARK College, she spent 14 years working at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. During that time, she served in several positions, including biology instructor, Lead Biology Instructor, Associate Dean of Instruction for Science & Mathematics, and the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs. She has worked with faculty across all disciplines to ensure effective implementation of the academic assessment processes, including the appropriate use of data to inform decisions about courses and programs, program review, curriculum development and distance education.
