Dr. Janet Spriggs is the Chief Operating Officer at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College located in Salisbury, Kannapolis, and Concord, NC. She has worked at two community colleges within the North Carolina Community College System for almost 22 years. In her current role, Janet leads the Student Success Division which includes student success services, finance, human resources, and institutional effectiveness.

Janet earned her doctorate in higher education administration from Northeastern University. Her thesis focused on understanding the experiences of successful low-income community college students and expanded research on effective institutional persistence strategies, creating a new Student Success Team model for admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and career and academic advising that Janet and her team implemented in Fall 2017.

Janet is an active member of her community. She is a Rotarian, the 2018 Chair of the Board for the Rowan Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the Economic Development Commission. Janet has been married to her husband Doug for over 30 years and they love nothing more than spending time with their five children, three grandchildren, and two Norfolk Terriers. Additionally, Dr. Spriggs has created a leadership development website: Leading to Make a Difference, which gives her the opportunity to channel her passions for service, leadership and the power of education to change lives. She authors a leadership blog, leads workshops, and provides keynote addresses.
