Jenivee Gastelum
Jenivee Gastelum is a Program Associate on the Research and Innovation team where she supports the efforts of the AASCU-Aspen Transfer Student Success Intensive and the Maryland Transfer Intensive.
Prior to joining Aspen, Jenivee had numerous positions within education. She first became interested in education as an English tutor at her community college. She also had experience as a teaching assistant in the K-8 setting and college advising high school students. She then worked as a research assistant at the Community College Research Center (CCRC) where she contributed to research projects around community college finance and self-directed learning (SDL) skills within online STEM learning. Jenivee is a proud former transfer student and first-generation college student.
A proud first-generation college student, Jenivee attended Riverside City College (RCC) where she earned her associates degree in sociology. She then transferred to UCLA where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and minored in education studies. She recently graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University where she earned her masters degree in sociology and education.
