Dr. Jennifer Cournoyer is a passionate and results-driven higher education leader dedicated to removing barriers to student success and fostering inclusive, high-impact learning environments. With over 12 years of experience in community colleges across New England, she has served as the Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs at River Valley Community College in New Hampshire since 2018. She holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, an MLIS from the University of Rhode Island, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Stonehill College.

As a visionary administrator, Dr. Cournoyer specializes in building and scaling academic and student support programs. She has led initiatives to address homelessness and food insecurity, expand access to mental health services, and support faculty in developing accelerated programs, bridge programs, and HyFlex modalities. Her expertise spans accreditation, governance, workforce development, and ethical resource allocation. She has also championed Open Access and Open Pedagogy, ensuring that education remains affordable and accessible to diverse student populations.

Beyond her institutional impact, Dr. Cournoyer is committed to mentorship and leadership development. She takes pride in helping colleagues grow in their careers, expand their leadership potential, and achieve work-life balance. She is dedicated to fostering safe, respectful, and inclusive work cultures that empower both students and professionals.
