Jeremy Pickard

Dr. Jeremy L. Pickard is a strategic, student-centered leader dedicated to advancing the community college mission through expanded access, equity, and economic mobility. He currently serves as President of Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, where he is committed to strengthening student success and regional workforce development.

With more than twenty years of progressive leadership experience, Dr. Pickard has built a reputation as a visionary partner and collaborative leader. He has worked extensively with K–12 districts, business and industry, and regional stakeholders to expand educational opportunity and respond to emerging workforce needs. His leadership was instrumental in the successful passage of a $40 million bond that established four Career Advancement Centers, significantly increasing access to high-quality career and technical education. During his tenure, his institution experienced enrollment growth along with improved student retention and completion outcomes.

Dr. Pickard’s work reflects a strong commitment to innovation and institutional transformation. He has secured millions in competitive grant funding, championed the expansion of digital learning, strengthened faculty excellence, and advanced pathways that lead to transfer, high-skill employment, and community vitality.

A former faculty member and longtime school board president, Dr. Pickard brings a comprehensive understanding of education, governance, and community impact. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University.
