Dr. Cooper Wilkins is the Assistant Superintendent / Vice President for Student Services at San Joaquin Delta College with administrative oversight for Enrollment Services and Student Development that includes services and supports such as the Pride Center, the Guardian Scholars Program for Foster Youth, as well as Student Activities, Student Clubs and Organizations and Student Government; Counseling and Special Services (Extended Opportunity Programs and Services, Disability Support Programs and Services, AFFIRM, Puente and EPIC Learning Communities, Career and Transfer Center as well as academic Guidance courses); the District Police Department, CalWORKs, and the Hazel Hill Child Development Center. Prior to joining the District in 2014, she served at University of the Pacific as the Associate Vice President for Student Life.
Lisa has spent her career in roles that foster access, equity, inclusion and opportunity for underrepresented and underserved students. Honors that she has received include the NAACP’s Medgar Evers Freedom Fighter Award in 2017, the Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award in 2014 as well as the Susan B. Anthony Woman of Achievement Award in 2012.
Dr. Cooper Wilkins completed her doctoral studies at the George Washington University in Higher Education Administration Program. Further, she possesses a Master of Arts in Psychological Services and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Counseling from Marymount University; a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and International Relations from Goucher College. She remains actively engaged in service to her profession and to her local community.
