Peter Anderson

Dr. Peter Anderson is the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services at New River Community College, serving as the chief academic and student services officer. He is responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality instructional programs and services. He works collaboratively with other senior leaders and members of the college community to carry out the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the institution to ensure that “we give everyone the opportunity to learn and develop the right skills so lives and communities are strengthened."

Dr. Anderson earned:

1. Associate of Arts and Sciences in Education Degree from New River Community College
2. Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Virginia Tech
3. Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Radford University
4. Ph.D. in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University
5. Graduate Certificate in Leadership from Cornell University

He currently resides in Blacksburg with his lovely wife Julie and has three children, Ryan, Brooke, and Grace.
