As Executive Vice President at Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC), Dr. Scott Balog drives strategic initiatives across the institution and cultivates partnerships that support the college’s mission and elevate its impact. As a key advisor and collaborator to the President, he works closely with stakeholders across sectors to enhance KCKCC’s performance.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Scott has held pivotal roles that bridge innovation, strategy, and learning. Prior to joining KCKCC, he served Tallahassee State College (TSC) as Executive Director for its Center for Innovation, Chief of Staff, Director of Institutional Research and Planning, and Assistant to the President. Scott’s contributions to the sector also include his role as Chief Learning Officer for the Association for Institutional Research. Earlier in his career, he held specialist roles with both the Florida Department of Education and Florida State University (FSU).
Between his roles at TSC and KCKCC, Scott served as an advisor to multiple education technology and strategy consulting firms, helping them support college and university clients. Drawing on his experience with both higher education institutions and technology companies, Scott guided these firms in product development, business pipeline expansion, go-to-market strategies and client engagement. He also spearheaded the creation of multi-faceted partnerships with institutions to address the firms’ workforce needs.
The first in his family to attend college, Scott is a relentless advocate for the underserved and underrepresented and has dedicated his career to promoting access to postsecondary education and improved social mobility for all. Throughout his career, he has thrived at the intersection of education and industry, collaborating with employers to connect talent with opportunity.
Scott earned an Associate of Arts degree from Valencia College, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Florida and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration from FSU.
