Hiring Exceptional Community College Presidents: Tools for Hiring Leaders Who Can Improve Student Access and Success

These open-access tools are designed to assist boards of trustees, search committees, search consultants, and others involved in selecting community college presidents. The tools help identify and hire leaders with the qualities needed to drive student success. Funded by the Kresge Foundation, the toolkit includes resources such as protocols for aligning hiring criteria with student success priorities, job announcement language, scenario-based writing exercises, interview questions, candidate evaluation rubrics, scoring sheets, and reference check protocols.
