Rural Community College Excellence: A Guide to Delivering Strong Opportunity for Students and Communities

Rural community colleges serve over 1.5 million students, yetoften receive less attention from policymakers and researchers compared to their urban and suburban counterparts. To address this gap, the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program, supported by Ascendium, created this guide to share examples of high-achieving rural colleges. It draws on data analysis, interviews, site visits, and convenings to offer insights that can help other rural institutions achieve stronger and more equitable outcomes for their students and communities.
