The Talent Blind Spot reveals that each year, over 50,000 high-achieving, low- and moderate-income community college students do not transfer to four-year institutions. Among these students, approximately 15,000 have a GPA of 3.7 or higher, indicating they could succeed even at the most competitive schools. The report also highlights that high-graduation-rate colleges and universities, specifically American Talent Initiative (ATI) schools, enroll far fewer transfer students than other four-year institutions. To address this issue, the report outlines a path forward, emphasizing the importance of leadership-driven partnerships, early outreach and advising, and dedicated, holistic support.
