Tracking Transfer: Four-Year Institutional Effectiveness in Broadening Bachelor’s Degree Attainment

This report analyzes how effectively four-year institutions enroll and support community college transfer students. Using data from students who entered four-year institutions in 2015–16, the report examines the prevalence of transfer, retention, and bachelor’s completion outcomes among community college transfers, as well as their representation in various majors. The findings are disaggregated to highlight differential outcomes for low-income, Black, Hispanic, and older students.
