Dr. Pitcher is dedicated to the success of community college students. During the past twenty years, she taught as an adjunct professor while serving in a variety of functional areas including academic affairs, enrollment, planning, research, assessment, grant development, human resources, and finance. She also served on local board of trustees and state advisory boards.
Currently, Dr. Pitcher is serving as senior advisor to the commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education where she coordinated a state-wide initiative to help reduce the cost of college for students in MassTransfer Pathways, a program that fosters seamless transfer between Massachusetts two- and four-year public institutions. Previously, she served as vice president of enrollment management, research and planning at Middlesex Community College-Massachusetts where she established a comprehensive enrollment plan that focused on declining enrollment and improving success for underserved populations.
At Atlantic Cape Community College, Dr. Pitcher served as assistant dean of research, planning and assessment where she facilitated a collaborative strategic planning process and developed institutional performance indicators. She also led a committee in the submission of a five-year accreditation report that earned the college several commendations.
Dr. Pitcher completed the Executive Leadership Institute at the League for Innovations. She holds a Doctorate of Management in Community College Policy and Administration from the University of Maryland University College, where she later received the Alumni Business Leader Award. She also holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science from Bethel College, and an Associate of Applied Science from Texas State Technical College.
