Dr. Sedgwick Harris has over twenty-five years of experience in community college administration, currently the Vice President of Administrative Affairs at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In this role, he excels in providing strategic direction and transformative leadership to various administrative sectors of the college. His time at NCC is distinguished by the successful restructuring of the International Student Services, Campus Public Safety and Academic Advising departments.
Dr. Harris's professional journey began as an admissions assistant at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan, a position through which he directly engaged with students. Over the ensuing ten years, he took on a variety of roles at KCC, ascending to supervisory positions and shaping the college's strategic enrollment management strategies. In 2007, he embraced the role of Vice President for Student Services at Kaskaskia College, where he implemented academic standards in athletics and spearheaded the creation of the University Alliance program, fostering student transfer partnerships. His tenure at Kishwaukee College began in 2013 as the Vice President of Student Services, where he not only facilitated a reverse transfer agreement with Northern Illinois University and led the acquisition of two U.S. Department of Education TRiO grants through his collaborative efforts.
Dr. Harris is responsible for the PNC Foundation's diversity and equity summer bridge institute, as well as the Fe Foundation of the Lehigh Valley, which assists Hispanic or Latino students in pursuing entrepreneurial ambitions.
Dr. Harris serves as an adjunct professor for the Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership program at Delaware Valley University. His own academic path began at Southwestern Michigan College, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. He later attained a Doctorate in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University.
