With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Suzi Brown began her journey at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) in 2002 as a Language Arts Instructor and steadily ascended through various administrative roles including Language Arts Chairperson, Dean of Business Services, and Dean of Teaching and Learning. In February 2019, she assumed the position of Vice President of Institutional Advancement, overseeing external relations and fundraising efforts for the college. Prior to her tenure at MGCCC, she established her expertise through diverse professional experiences, having owned and operated a national supplemental education franchise in her community and spent seven years in the legal field.

Her academic credentials underscore her commitment to continuous learning. Brown earned an Associate of Arts from MGCCC, a Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies, a Master of Arts in English, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. Brown has also participated in various community leadership programs and is a proud graduate of Leadership Jackson County, MS Community College Leadership Academy, and Leadership Mississippi. She was also named an Honorary Commander for the 81st Training Wing in 2023 and, during her teaching tenure, received the NISOD Excellence Award, Instructor of the Year Award, and William Winter Scholar Award.

Beyond her professional endeavors, she dedicates her time to various community service initiatives, maintaining active involvement in her church as well as organizations such as the Mississippi Alumni Association, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), AACC Commission on Public Relations Advocacy and Advancement, and serving on the board of the Biloxi Chamber Board of Directors. Her extensive affiliations encompass a wide spectrum of professional associations and community groups, illustrating her commitment to holistic engagement and impact within both academic and civic spheres.
